Oreana – Orville L. Ferrill, 77, of Oreana, passed away at 8:41 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate Orville’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, with full military rites provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honor Team. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Orville was born September 12, 1933 in Oreana, the son of Chester L. and Hazel L. (McConnell) Ferrill. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. Orville began his work career with Wabash Railroad and went on to work for Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, Bob Wood Construction, Spacemark and Monical’s Pizza in Mt. Zion. He married Sharon Sullivan on August 25, 1957.
Surviving is his wife: Sharon of Oreana, children: Cheri Sago and her husband Jeff of Decatur, Teri Morthland and her husband Dwane of Decatur, Susan Fulcher and her husband Craig of Mt. Zion and Randy Ferrill and his wife Sue of Minooka, IL; grandchildren: Daniel Sago, Dustin Sago and his wife Katie, Dillon Sago, Robert Fulcher and his wife Kali, Tyler Fulcher and his wife Ashley, Shelby Fulcher, Corey Fulcher, Staci Morthland and Adam Waller, Erik Morthland, Kalynn Ferrill, and Sarah Ferrill; great-grandchildren: Noah, Hannah, Jordan, Jacob, Karley, Jarrod, Andrew, and Sophi; two step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren; brother: Robert Ferrill and his wife Delores; sister: Lois Hupp and her husband Robert and seventeen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Gary; brother: Richard and sister-in-law: Thelma and two nephews.
